In a society where 'self-love' is a constant buzz word, it's easier than ever to find ways to #loveyourself. But this love that the world offers, even the love that comes from self, is nowhere near as powerful nor as precious as the love of God. It's greater than any love you will ever find on earth and, this too, is a love that you are worthy of experiencing for yourself.
So, maybe you're asking yourself...
Why should I believe that I am worthy of God's love?
And the answer is simple, really, because God is love. Everything in His character is representative of that. But even more so than that, He formed you in the likeness of His image. He formed you in His love! It's part of your DNA, it's who you're made in His image to be.
Add to that, the sacrifice He made for you to fully know and receive His love. That even in your sin and imperfection, He still loves you so much. Enough to give up His own son to die for you to have access to life wit him. Add to that, His son who knew no sin, willingly laid down His life for you in the ultimate sacrifice of all mankind.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners Christ Died for us." - Romans 5:8
He took on the full burden of sin so that you and I could be set free. There is no greater Love than this! This is the same love, the same image, the same likeness that you are formed in. So not only are you worthy of this love, but you are a carrier of it. So go out there and show this dark world what it means to be made in love. Because we all have it, and according to God, we all deserve it.
